●Case Study
Aurora Festival
Aurora had a small team and no time. The identity had to look after itself.

●The problem
Aurora needed a system, not a logo.
A conventional identity would have collapsed under that volume. Handing a visual system to non-designers usually ends badly. Every poster needed to look different while remaining recognisably from the same festival, and the same system had to drive billboards and Instagram stories.

- Motion,

●What we did
One rule, infinite posters.
We designed a generative system: a single rule governing how type and colour intersect, encoded into templates anyone can operate. The rule is enforced by the template rather than by a guideline document, so a wrong result cannot be produced.

●What we learned
Design for the people who run it.
Format became a variable rather than a redraw, which collapsed billboard and social into one workflow. Production time for the 2024 campaign fell from four weeks to four days.
