Northline Coffee
Northline wanted to stand out on the shelf. We went the other way and made it calm.

Northline needed less, not more.
Specialty coffee packaging has become a maximalist arms race. Their old bags shouted like everyone else on the shelf. And by doing that, said nothing at all. Twelve roasts each needed their own identity while remaining unmistakably part of one family, and uncoated stock with single-pass printing meant the design had to survive real production rather than a render.

One rule, twelve roasts.
We reduced the identity to its essentials: a single wordmark, a horizon rule that shifts with each roast profile, and a stock that ages honestly. Colour is used once per bag and never twice. The range now reads as a spectrum on the shelf instead of a set of competing labels.

Subtraction is a strategy.
The system scales from a 200g retail bag to a cafe facade without a single new asset being drawn. Restraint gave Northline something none of their competitors could buy with more ink: recognition at a distance.
